This beautiful original pastel artwork is by Flora B. Giffuni, a celebrated pastel artist. She founded the Pastel Society of America in 1972. There is also a gallery named after her at the Butler Institute of American Art in Youngstown, Ohio.

This work was exhibited at The National Arts Club in New York City with a listed price of $1,000. We purchased it at an estate sale from a lot that had been in storage for many years. This artwork is likely from the 1980s.

The frame was damaged, and when I went to remove it, I found a lovely surprise: there is another figure painted on the back! Both are pictured here. It will ship without a frame.

Since the artwork was created by a woman, it is a rare example of a female nude that does not invoke and reinforce the male gaze. A special and meaningful gift for a discerning art lover.
